German tourism will grow on the island of Fuerteventura during the next winter by 1,7% thanks to the bet of airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet and Eurowings, which will launch air routes from Berlin, as reported by the Cabildo on the occasion of start of the ITB Fair.

In this way, the insular institution will have during the meeting a work agenda in which the Tourist Board will hold professional meetings with 22 representatives of tour operators and airlines.

The island delegation is headed by the president of the Cabildo, Marcial Morales, the vice president and tourism chief executive officer, Blas Acosta, as well as the mayor of the municipality of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, and representatives of the Asofuer and Excelfuer associations.

Morales stressed the importance of German tourism to Fuerteventura and noted that “in a complicated time after the rebirth of destinations that were in crisis as Turkey, Egypt or Tunisia; they must work for the island to leave this fair consolidating figures.”

In addition, he opted to make an effort in “the promotion and quality and this must go through the training of professionals and investment for the renovation of public spaces.”

For his part, Blas Acosta, recalled that last year was closed with the arrival of 864.857 Germans by air and that the intention for the summer “is to keep the figures for the same period of 2017 despite the strong competition from destinations such as Egypt and Turkey”.
